Respect for Nature and its Seasons
Since 1956, when grandmother Caterina founded the restaurant, Riglarhaus has embraced genuineness as a daily commitment. Seasonal ingredients, wild herbs, and carefully selected local products come together in a cuisine that expresses flavour and passion, faithfully honouring the culinary traditions of Carnia.
Our Dining Rooms
The dining rooms of Riglarhaus Restaurant reflect Sauran hospitality: the warm atmosphere of the Fogolar Furlan, the intimate charm of the Sala Peickele, and the mountain views from the Panoramic Veranda. Each space welcomes guests with warm authenticity, offering culinary experiences that blend tradition and conviviality, together with the hotel bar — a welcoming meeting point for an aperitif, a selection of local meats and cheeses, or a glass of fine Friulian wine.
Sala Peickele
An intimate and bright room, finished in light wood and Alpine-style details. Red upholstered seating, soft lighting create a warm, welcoming atmosphere, ideal for relaxed lunches and peaceful dinners.
Sala del Fogolar
At the heart of Carnian tradition lies the fogolar furlan, a warm and intimate space shaped by soft light and tradition, perfect for convivial dinners or quiet, romantic moments.
Panoramic Veranda
A panoramic outdoor patio, ideal for summer meals, but just as welcoming in spring and autumn. Here, good food blends with the beauty of the Alpine landscape, turning every meal into a memorable experience.
Civetta Bar
Bar Civetta, the heart of the hotel, brings guests and locals together. Sip Friulian wines, local aperitifs, grappa, or herbal teas while listening to stories in the traditional Sauran language.

We went for lunch on Ferragosto and were treated exceptionally well. The dishes we had were outstanding: traditional recipes done perfectly, with a wide variety to choose from. The views are absolutely breathtaking.

From starters to dessert, everything was excellent. We celebrated my dad’s birthday (he’s a picky eater) and he loved EVERYTHING. There are dishes for all tastes, with reasonable prices.
